The only design change I would advocate for is upgrading the chassis for the Kindle to be IPX8 waterproof resistance rated. Some people like to have physical page-turn buttons, but personally, I don’t view the lack of those as a negative.
To be fair, there isn’t really a need for anything else. Aside from a power button and the USB-C charging port, there’s nothing else. I asked when the new Kindle, which they referred as the "2023 Oasis", would be available and they said "early next year." I then pushed even more by asking if that meant January, and they said "Yes.It also remains a no-frills device in terms of extra physical features. They then steered me to the current Kindle Oasis (which they referred to as the "2022 Oasis"). Without any hesitation, they said that yes, there is a new model on the way but that it is not available for purchase yet. 4th, 2022) I spoke with an Amazon customer service representative and flat out asked about an updated Kindle Oasis. However, I decided to wait for/hope for something more premium. I vowed not to buy another Kindle until USB-C support was added, and I was tempted by the latest PaperWhite which did exactly that.
